The company is collaborating with the Centre for Economic Promotion of El Prat de Llobregat, Innolab and Institut Illa dels Banyols High School. Collaboration consists of undertaking a study on the thermodynamic cycle and the performance of refrigerated drinking water fountains.
The drinking water fountain and water cooler company Canaletas, in collaboration with Institut Illa dels Banyols High School (El Prat de Llobregat),is offering training courses to students in the second year of the Higher Level Education Cycle on Maintenance of Thermal and Fluid Installations, studying the Project course. This collaboration is within the programme of Innolab, an entity which puts business training education centres and companies in contact. The initiative was launched by the Centre for Economic Promotion of El Prat de Llobregat.
“Collaboration with Canaletas,” explains Juan Carlos Sanjosé, a teacher at the high school, “consists of undertaking a study on the thermodynamic cycle and the performance of refrigerated drinking water fountains which the company currently manufactures”. To do so, a test and trial plan in the company’s laboratory is carried out, where students, advised by Jordi Morera, Industrial Engineer and Managing Director, will carry out a series of practices in order to reach conclusions applicable to the process and dimensioning, “as well as excellent training and contact with the sector”.
“We are very committed to all projects implemented in our city,” states Jordi Morera, Managing Director of Canaletas. “And particularly,” he adds, “training projects are very interesting”. As a participating company, during these courses, Canaletas poses challenges for the students, which must be solved with innovative ideas. “This is very enriching,” he explains, “as projects are generated which may be very interesting, improving the transfer of value between our company and the educational centre while serving as a mechanism for increasing our own competitiveness as a company”.
