Young People Demand Drinking Water Fountains in Schools to Facilitate The Water Consumption

The consumption of water is essential at all ages, but this everyday action is even more important when it involves people who regularly engage in cognitive efforts. This is the case for students, who need to maximize their hydration to facilitate the various learning processes they undertake throughout the day.

Poor hydration negatively affects cognitive capacity. Therefore, for students, it can lead to issues with attention, learning, and memory. This is confirmed by the study "Importance of Hydration in Cardiovascular Health and Cognitive Function" (2022),which highlights that simply rehydrating improves cognitive function.

Canaletas, a leading manufacturing company of drinking water fountains and water dispensers, understands the importance of these installations in educational centers. Recently, water fountains were installed at the German center BKB, following requests from the students themselves.

The young students, through the student council, demanded the presence of drinking water fountains for several reasons. One was the hydration of the students, who, by having free and constant access to drinking water, can increase their recommended daily water intake. During periods like summer, when temperatures rise, or in situations where a student feels dizzy, water is highly sought after.

Beyond health reasons, they also requested the installation of these water dispensers to ensure everyone in the area has access to water. These installations prevent students from spending money on other beverages, promoting healthier consumption and avoiding any financial issues.

Thanks to the accessibility of the installed water dispensers, students at the center can hydrate regardless of the time or situation. This initiative is becoming increasingly common in educational centers, as it ensures water consumption for everyone present and promotes proper hydration with a natural and completely healthy product.
